Don Mackanos

Don (Mac) Mackanos, is currently president of Alliance Benefit Group LLC. Mr. Mackanos has worked in the retirement plan industry for over 30 years with prior work experience including his role as senior vice president and co-founder of business development for Trustivo. He was also instrumental in building what was then, a 10 person software company into a global $200 million division of SunGard. Mr. Mackanos served as president from 1993 to 2008 at SunGard’s Retirement Services division overseeing the Omni and Relius business units. While at SunGard, he was responsible for a staff of over 1000 employees in multiple locations. These business units serviced more than 65 million participants in 9 countries, including the largest DC plan in the world; the US Federal Thrift plan- all while enjoying the retirement industry’s highest client satisfaction ratings.

Mr. Mackanos is also a frequent contributor and blogger at “Inside the Boardroom” and actively attends and speaks at conferences and events as an experienced executive in this industry.

Mr. Mackanos earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University, a Law Degree from Stetson University College of Law, and a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Miami, School of Law. When he is not working, Mr. Mackanos enjoys playing golf, traveling, and living at the beach in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.
